i read my poem
to an old friend
he assumed it
was about him
it caught me so
off guard when
he began to sob
i had meant it
to be humorous
seeing him cry
brought tears to
my eyes as well
so there we sat
two grown men
sobbing together
over a silly poem
about time travel

poems are paper planes–
we send them out, not knowing
where they might touch down

Baš mi se sviđa ova jednostavnost i iskrenost. Ima nešto jako ljudsko u toj situaciji – kako jedna “lagana” pjesma može nekome drugom otvoriti duboke emocije.

That is so true. Everything written is open to a unique interpretation, based on the reader’s personal experiences and perception.

Yup, you never know what someone might take away from a poem. Thanks, Sandy!
