Love the photo and funny poem, Michael. You always have interesting responses to what you observe. Why indeed? I am reminded of seeing something similar on my way to work in the city of Victoria BC. Deer share the environment there. I had to stop my car near a crosswalk as a doe and fawn emerged from a very old cemetery, then proceeded to walk across the road single file on the crosswalk markings to the other side where there was a shopping mall and the flower shop where I worked. The nearby gardens are no doubt tasty as well as beautiful so I suspect they wanted a flowery lunch to go with the graveyard greens. (?)
Every morning, 4 or 5 deer come into town, where the good eating is; I see them walk by and wish I could feed them but I know that’s not beneficial to them in the long run. Also, the wolves never come into town,so it’s a safe haven for them. Thanks, Shelley!

They crossed the road to give you a photo opportunity. Happy wandering, friend!

Thank you, Lane! I prefer to take their picture in their natural setting, but couldn’t resist these two on the road.
