i went for a walk this morning
i wish you could’ve seen the view
a dragonfly circled around me
i thought maybe it was you
i heard the birds all singing
they sang our song, it’s true
you’re in everything i see
and everything i do

Our loves do circle around us… mine comes as a crimson cardinal.

Just one more thing to add, when Mike, my friend, passed away I used to feel his presence on my walks, the walks we used to take together but that was during the first year but now, I no longer feel him although at times, I sense something. I think he has moved on to where he needs to be and I have let him go. He deserves his peace.

I think grief heightens our awareness of things that are normally just below the threshold of our perception. Trauma does it too.

hugs from me, Michael; it’s hard when you lose someone you love; this is a beautiful, tender poem; and the title is wonderfully clever; I’m bookmarking this post 🙂

Thank you very much, John! Maybe the best poems are real and tragic and a little bit wonderful.
