so lovely in their innocence,
the wild hops upon this fence
give off that old familiar scent
i knew in drinking days,
and if i wasn’t on year three
of self-imposed sobriety,
perhaps the hops would trigger me–
i’ve truly changed my ways!

Such a profusion of yellow and green hues, just beautiful. I blew it up so I could see every shade of color. So pretty. Another glorious photo from your rambles.

Happy for you Michael! I have a lovely, wonderful, angelic sister in AA these days (the sociable partying lifestyle with her partner), a brother who won’t quit and another brother who has been in AA for several years. I choose to drink zero beers only after a few years of having a glass of wine after work before my retirement. I called it ‘stress relief’ then. I have a rare tasting of zero wine but am more drawn to the smell of the hops. That may be the sign of an allergy! lol I’m so glad you keep a clear, bright mind with all that talent you have to share.
