There seems to be a rift in how people feel about looking back on their lives. Some folks say that we can’t move forward while looking back; others say that it can give us insight into a bigger picture of ourselves.
For me, I think looking back (in moderation) is a good thing. For example, looking back on some of my earliest posts teaches me how not to write–and that brings me to today’s quote by Jack Paar:
“Looking back, my life seems
like one long obstacle race,
with me as the chief obstacle.”

True! We do our best to keep an eye on the future while remembering the past for guidance.

Yep, those who don’t understand history are doomed to repeat it… ha. Love the quote.

Nice pic and post. I liken it sometimes to that board game, “The game of life”… seems like all the fun stuff (Stop! Get Married”), adding kids to your little car, first house, buying stock, etc is in the past and all that’s left is “Millionaire Acres” or “the Poor House.” 😂

Beautiful and thought provoking post. I see that we do judge ourselves as we move forward, look backward, and evaluate where we now are. I am one of those people who sees Past, Present and Future as a unity of evolution having value by viewing all with grace. Your photo is marvellous.

Live and learn. Your choices and life look different now, so that must feel good.
