Jim Carrey Quote

With Christmas bearing down on us, I must confess that there’s a part of it I hate. Sure, the gift-giving and spiritual side of it is wonderful, but the hyped up in-your-face commercialism is worrisome. Are we teaching our children that happiness is about having “things”? Take it from a guy who knows a thing or two about having it all, Jim Carrey:

“I wish that everyone would find success,

become rich and famous, and acquire

everything they’ve ever wanted–

so they could finally realize that it

wasn’t what they were looking for.”

  1. Interesting quote.
And I guess, you nailed it.
As I can see nearly most of us hate that no matter where you go, there are direct offers (not only in shop window, but on the smartphone’s screen)…
And there are smaller-bigger shiftings as well…
Especially for me there is one small interesting takeaway from this weekend:
I do not know how it is in the USA at Easter, but in my country girls use to give a painted egg to boys as a gift in return for sprinkling. And as a result you also can buy chocolate-egg (egg shaped chocolate) in Easter season. In Easter season I wrote…
Now I saw Xmas-egg in the shop!!! Crazy World πŸ™‚

  2. That is a great quote and good for you, for trying something new, although the photo does not compare to yours! I have yet to give AI photos a try. As for the holiday commercialism… feels good to step away from the nonsense. Best to find a little magic in the everyday. 😊

  3. I agree with your words.Gave my grandchildren some money for Christmas to spend on an African family. They pooled their money and bought two goats and a flock of chickens for a family. They were excited. Happy night!
