while sketching
a fetching young dancer,
i was asked
how i came
by my art.
“with oodles
of doodles,” i answered–
while wishing
i’d said
something smart.
she smiled
a while and related
that she learned
how to dance
in a hall:
her mama
and papa had 8 kids,
and only
1 bathroom
for all.

It would have cool to sketch her dancing. π Nice, though.

Delightful sketch and poem. You are better at drawing than I am especially drawing portraits. I try now and then to draw well remembering my art education but facial symmetry and challenging individual deviations seem to escape my hand. I donβt go as far as Picasso though that may be fun too. Enjoy the process Michael ππβ¨

I really have trouble with faces too. If you could see this one from directly above, you’d see what I mean. Thank you, Shelley!!
