I lived off the grid in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for fifteen years and still have the place we go to. Lots of eagles there. Amazing birds. But we kept our puppy under close watch when she was little. Nice.
Lake of the Woods? Tim O’Brien novel set there. One of my favorites. He was a big influence to me when I was writing my novel in stories. Must be lovely there.
