i treasure
the pleasure
a path in the pines
affords to my soul
in the cool
morning air;
when near it
my spirit
with nature aligns
and i feel whole
whenever
i’m there

Your poem and photo are medicine to those who need to feel that connected awareness of our oneness with Nature. I’m fortunate in that I now live there’s immediate access to a little more than an acre of Vancouver Island rainforest where deer and other critters appear now and then. Our apartment also faces fields where fat, healthy cows graze. A trail through wetlands edged by tall grass, bullrushes, garry oaks, hawthorn trees and blackberry brambles is across the road. The trail passes a mansion/farm where beautiful, healthy horses graze in a field by the park trail. All this diversity of Nature is within a five minute drive to city shopping centers. I looked across the fields yesterday and the 23rd psalm came to mind. We have so much to be grateful for!
