i putt along
i’m easy rider
on my chopper
the path falls
i’m hagrid
with baby harry
a steep hill
i’m sisyphus
forever pushing
a sharp turn
i’m mario
at the indy 500
back home
just me again
on my bicycle

when immovable
obstacles obscure our view
of peaceful waters
we must chip away at them
until they’re sandy beaches

Bigly winner. Biglier liar. Bigliest loser.

A great, white limousine
Rolled down the road to Destiny,
And in it sat four revered men
Of great authority.
Religion and Tradition graced
The seat that faced the rear,
While in the back with Science
Sat Philosophy so near.
When the road became so rough
That forward progress slowed,
Philosophy said, “Gentlemen,
Let’s try another road.”
“I think he’s right,” said Science,
Shuffling papers on his lap,
“I’ve been collecting data,
And I’ve made a little map.”
Religion would not hear of it,
“‘Tis blasphemy!” said he,
“For God himself has set us on
This road to Destiny.”
“Religion’s right,” Tradition chimed,
“It’s been agreed upon.”
And as they argued endlessly,
The limousine rolled on.
And in the end, their driver,
Who was named Necessity,
Found that he would have to
Choose the road to Destiny.

some blushing beauties
only get to see the world
through a barbed-wire fence
a jealous man turns a gift
into a soul-crushing curse

September stew is savory,
And this is how it’s made:
Start with hand-picked, lengthy
Stalks of sweet September shade.
Mix in lawn chairs, tables too,
Good friends, and family,
Add some wine, turn up the heat,
And stir occasionally.
Season with some salty tales,
Perhaps break out in song,
Bring to boil, reduce the heat,
And simmer all day long.

when I see myself
as a character in a book
a wonderful transition
takes place
life’s ups and downs
are only little twists
in the plot to keep
the book entertaining
moreover
I would buy this book

it takes a great star
and a tiny mote of dust
to make a sunset
