Poor Rudolph, whose nose is so bright,
Isn’t leading the old sleigh tonight,
For Santa, I guess,
Has installed GPS,
And now Rudolph’s his new taillight.

some folks get depressed
when the shortest days arrive
yet others feel blessed
and are glad to be alive
if sunshine’s what you need
there’s good news on the way
tomorrow’s guaranteed
to be a brighter day

So proud in the sky
As you rise every night
With your belt and your dagger
Shining so bright,
Your hunting dog, Sirius,
Sits at your side,
O Orion
Your downfall was pride!
When you hunted on Crete,
You extolled your self-worth,
And you bragged you could kill
Every beast on the earth,
So Mother Earth sent you
A scorpion’s sting,
O Orion
What did it bring?
Your hunting skills surely
Were as sharp as your knife,
But your arrogance
Cost you your life,
Now Scorpio ever
Keeps you on the run,
O Orion
What have you done?

the earth turns her back
to the overbearing sun
for delicate art
turning away from the light
we may find a rare beauty
warning
warning
snowstorm coming
cars wheeling frantically
fast-moving clouds swallow the sun
grey out
blizzard
blizzard
windy snowdance
cars every which way
snowstorm turning horizontal
whiteout
buried
buried
brand new snowscape
cars abandoned white shapes
power lines buried in the snow
blackout

an old crooked cross
leans into the cold north wind
its paint coat long gone

mr. president
reach across
and you’ll find
it’s not hard
to be kind
we are all
intertwined
there’s enough
for us all
so I plead
don’t be blind
give yourself
peace of mind
for the sake
of mankind
do away
with your wall
me

stands guarding the hill against
mighty blue forces
