Heaven’s door stands ajar
O’er humbled street lamps

did not shine brightly
they captured my attention
with a soft, beautiful glow

on crashing waves
one night
and there he stood
this man of wood
in morning’s cool
sunlight
he stands and stares
but never shares
what he’s looking
for
i guess someday
he’ll drift away
to find another
shore
