September Stew

The-Luncheon-of-the-Boating-Party

September stew is savory,

And this is how it’s made:

Start with hand-picked, lengthy

Stalks of sweet September shade.

Mix in lawn chairs, tables too,

Good friends, and family,

Add some wine, turn up the heat,

And stir occasionally.

Season with some salty tales,

Perhaps break out in song,

Bring to boil, reduce the heat,

And simmer all day long.

Gem Garden

Big_Apple

I dream of a garden

In some secret glade,

Where apples are rubies

And leaves are cool jade.

I see amethyst asters

On peridot stems,

Raspberry garnets —

And all made of gems!

The garden pond ripples

With blue tiger’s eye

In this emerald glade

‘Neath this sapphire sky.

When the amber sun sets,

And the pearl moon’s nigh,

Then the diamonds come out

In the black onyx sky.
