stroke of luck

i had a crazy dream–

donald trump had played a part:

he’d had a little stroke

and a massive change of heart

*

now all that he was worth,

he donated to the poor;

he cried for mother earth

and apologized for war.

*

he had a brand new plan,

and our country’s fate was changed–

and all because one man

had his ‘marbles’ rearranged.

*

soon it spread to other lands,

and peace accords were struck;

people everywhere joined hands

and shared the stroke of luck.

pawn shop man

call off your goon

i think we

better settle

i offered you

my gold doubloon

you said it

was base metal

you told me that

my silver spoon

was iron

like this kettle

i think that soon

you’re going to

test my mettle

Monochrome Monday

The winter blast has finally passed–

I’m going out for a walk at last.

As I go, I see the snow

Up in the trees– it’s quite a show!

A lovely scene, so serene,

The whole forest is crystalline.

Yes, it’s quite a stunning sight–

Even if it’s black and white!
