It’s a beautiful March morning. I went out for a walk with the camera earlier, and when two deer stopped in their tracks and posed for me, it made my day.
up ahead,
these two does
didn’t hide
or go a-runnin’,
but instead,
struck a pose
when they eyed
me a-comin’

this warm weather
comes and goes
one day it’s nice
the next it snows
the river’s ice
in sunlight flows
but every night
it’s all refroze

so why did
the deer cross the road?
nobody
really knows–
but i hope it wasn’t to make
a feast for the crows

when my cat took me out for a walk,
i thought we might have a nice talk,
but she ran off ahead,
hearing nothing i said–
she ignored me and fled down the block!

there’s nothing better
than a beautiful spring day–

the diet of the bald eagle
shows that you’re not what you eat,
for he stands so composed–even regal–
while gobbling down decomposed meat.

now, i’m no monk
and yet i find
i walk for peace–
of a kind;
yes, every day
i am resigned
to walk for peace–
peace of mind.
