the night brought a foxy young guest
whose poise had us very impressed
’til the yard light came on
and her halo was gone–
and then, she was demon possessed.

looks like i’ve found a
secret, hidden entrance to
a magical realm
if i never come back out,
you’ll know i was right, indeed

take me away
to a moonlit bay
where moonbeams play
upon the shore,
for there, by the sea,
i feel like i’m free
to just be me
and nothing more

a shy sun lingers
under the covers before
rising for the day

peace of mind
is a pastel sky
and a few
ragged trees,
and the way they all sway in
the gentlest breeze

daylight never ends–
it just gets swept
into bright little piles
by tall trees
in the evening,
and blown around
by solar wind
in the morning.
