Still battling with my demons,
But as of today — I’M WINNING!

A young porcupine known as Jim
Is always going out on a limb
To become my good friend,
But I know, in the end,
That I’ll never get that close to him

When the days
Are shorter in length,
The leaves have
Gone away,
And the sun has lost its strength,
Some folks lose their way

to our eyes,
the babbling brook
more soothing
to our ears,
and the rebirth of life
more precious
to our souls

a city made of gold
beside a mountain stream–
a wonder to behold!
but then there came a mist
that blurred its golden gleam,
yet i know it exists–
i saw it in a dream
