I was out in the yard at my place,
When I looked up and saw my mom’s face;
Now, I know that she’s gone,
And I’m sure she’s moved on,
But I mowed the whole lawn just in case.

a proud pine stands in
the resplendent autumn woods–
and is not impressed
their loud colors are soon gone
yet he remains evergreen

the unknown future
can only be imagined
in the here and now
the unchanging past
can only be remembered
in the here and now
the future and past
can only be entertained
in the here and now
time is illusion–
it has always been now
and always will be

I often come across fungi on my walks through the woods. When people think of fungus, they probably picture something ugly, but it can be quite beautiful.

Sometimes it’s just a matter of perspective.

And some are so ugly, they’re beautiful.

This “brave new squirrel” is nonchalantly perched on the edge of a 100 foot cliff. He actually runs out on tree branches that extend out over the pit all the time. No fear.
