O eloquent Calliope,

Muse of epic poetry,

You whispered words

While Homer wrote

The Iliad and Odyssey;

Yes, you’ve inspired

Both fool and sage

From every land

And every age–

And now I’m asking

For your help

To put the pen

Upon the page.
