I haven’t been able to post much lately because my son and I are in the process of moving. The job we moved to the farmlands of northwestern Minnesota for closed down, so it’s back to the Iron Range. But don’t worry, it’s just as beautiful and inspiring here, and I’ve managed to snap a few shots since we arrived to prove it.

Well, besides moving, my cat Freya bit me and my whole leg got infected. I was so sick, and poetry is hard to muster when you don’t feel well. I’m on some potent antibiotics now, and can’t wait to get out there with the camera.

I’m a retired miner, but my son Aaron was managing a tobacco/bait shop. A lot of his customers bought edibles and other forms of weed there, so when it became legal here in Minnesota, there wasn’t much call for it. That, and Aaron’s girlfriend lives here. And three years up there is about enough.

Ah, I couldn’t tell when you were where. I assume you are in business with your son, though. Copper mines? You are glad to be moving back?

Iron Mines, and I was born here, so I may be biased, but I like it here.

Oh wow. I detect a lot of inspiration. That dilapidated building evokes a number of curiosities. It’s still beautiful to me. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Thank you very much! I love old things: cars, bottles, barns, books, houses, you name it! The old house almost looks like it could be a jig-saw puzzle.

I’m originally from Chicago but moved to NW Minnesota in 2020. Beautiful here but I miss home. Sorry to hear the job closed down, but hopefully – it’s for the best. Love the picture of the abandoned home. I enjoy seeing places like that and always wonder the history behind them.

Me too…and old barns. Well, almost anything old intrigues me, as in my poem “Gold Rust”
