They’re mostly in Canada or northern US, I guess.

yep.. We have tons of them in the Upper Peninsula. Not so much in the lower, so it extends the color season into mid Nov. Pretty.

They’re so beautiful dressed in autumn yellow! I once gathered their little rose-like cones and glued them to birdhouses as indoor decor when my husband and I shared that crafting hobby. Tamaracks are plentiful where I grew up in northeastern Ontario so I had the pleasure of seeing their seasonal changes too. Delightful poem, Michael!
