I can’t believe I’ve stumbled upon an old, abandoned house out here in the woods. Surrounded by a sea of wildflowers and encroaching trees, it reminds me of a great ghost ship on the stormy main. The tentacles of a giant sea monster have wrapped around her, and are ever pulling her down. Some day, she’ll go under.
when old houses fall
their delicious mysteries
go under with them

It breaks my heart to see a heritage house abandoned. She looks arts and crafts yet the roof looks victorian gable. Excellent poetry.

I don’t know why exactly, but I find these old abandoned places strangely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

I love this and the beauty of an old home. I’m living in my family home, built in 1920, as a wedding present to my grandmother from her father. Where do you live? You capture the wildlife and scenery so beautifully in your photographs.

Thank you, Lane! I live at Lake of the Woods on the Canadian/US border, it is a great place for wildlife photos!

It’s sad that people put all that effort into building that, only for it to decay
