I constructed a perch for my cat
with a carpeted ramp and a mat;
now most of the day
she’s out of my way
and I’m freed up to do this and that

I need something like that. Maybe one day I’ll get creative and make something for them.

It’s not hard to do unless you don’t want to use screws on your wall.

I don’t care about that. I want to make sure it’s sturdy enough to withstand these rambunctious young ones and the older ones that try to keep up with them:

I guess you have to make sure the screws line up with the studs, or else cats and all will come tumbling down lol

Your poem gave me a good chuckle. Bird’s eye view…lucky cat! What’s his or her name you’ve given? This farm has three cats- Mork and Mindy, both almost identical creamy white and caramel hair, Mork lifts his head for caresses and treats, Mindy who splays her paws for those too, and Kojak who is part Siamese female (I secretly call her Miss Fiona Kojak but don’t tell her people) and all three scratch at my door and bedroom window for treats after initial months of avoiding my daughter and I. They also ‘talk’ to me quite often, saying “More treats, please!” I learned how to win friends and influence cats.

Her name is Freya and she loves the perch up there. I got the idea from my brother who had catwalks all over his house. As Aaron said,”She likes to lord over us from up there.”
