On Thanksgiving,
My mother
Would implore
Every child
To annunciate
Just what they’re
Thankful for.
I’d always say

For the meal,

Thank you, Susan. We also recited a Norwegian prayer together before we could eat. One of my jobs was to make the butter.

Churning the butter was one of my jobs too! It took alot of elbow grease, but it tasted so good.

Sometimes I’d take the gallon glass jar I had to shake over to the neighbors, and put it on his paint shaker! Nice, yellow butter in 10 minutes or less.
