field of sunflowers
yellow periscopes pop up
looking for the sun

as the berries were collected
the young ones dined on them
at home they were inspected
and sampled once again
those that were selected
went in pies and jellies
and those that were rejected
went in little bellies

we all hope to rest
in peace one day, but for some,
the struggle never ends

crystal balls
fall all around
and shatter as they
strike the ground,
while silently
we march en masse
thru bloody fields
of broken glass;
how beautiful
the crystal sphere
a perfect orb
so pure and clear;
yet hold a shard
up to the sun
and rainbows shine
on everyone
