a
local
crop duster
appears daily
in the morning skies
over the farmers’ fields.
suddenly, he plummets down,
barely clearing the power lines,
and releases his chemical spray–
in essence, marking his territory.

Usually fertilizer or pesticides, I guess. I’m new to this farming area, I’m learning little by little

I used to have horses near rice fields and when I heard the planes I’d kick and kick to return back to the barn as fast as I could. Then I loved to watch how low they got and I imagined flying those planes to be slightly exhilarating.

reminds me of ‘North By Northwest’; that bite at the end puts a whole new perspective on the enterprise; well done !
